WILLISAU Switzerland AR-Configurator

E JAugmented Reality

Many furnishing apps using Augmented Reality have been around those past couple of years but this year for the imm-cologne (the international interiors show in Colonia, Germany) the fine furniture producer Willisau Switzerland premiered its new furniture configurator app featuring cutting-edge modules which haven’t been combined in one app before.

The customised tool is not only used supporting sales-teams in new business acquisitions, but also creates an emotional user experience for every potential customer when getting in touch with the brand.

Markus Heß, Managing Director Sales of Willisau Switzerland:
“For the creation of the new app we had the high demand to present our collection in a realistic way, in correct size proportions and within an interactive 3D environment. For us it was important to create a user friendly, intuitive, easy to use and „really cool“ tool. The use of the app should allow our clients to really have fun with our brand. With our vast amount of different surface materials and designs, we offer a superior collection with nearly unlimited possibilities to meet our clients individual needs and desires.

We found ViewAR as the ideal development partner, who could participate this need and develop the custom fit system at highest level. This innovative presentation form is not yet possible with existing planning tools. We now for the first time have the possibility to present our entire portfolio with all configuration possibilites anytime and anywhere. Detached from the products in our showrooms, we can now present any product variation in an impressive way, to ease our clients´ buying decisions. Additionally the app supports our sales partners enormously within the client communication and additionally supports our consumers directly.

The nearly playful use allows any client to visualise his imagination in the privacy of his own rooms, in a LIVE way, as if the furniture would already stand in his own living room. The high quality of the product presentation rein-spires our clients every day.“

The most complex Augmented Reality system of its kind (developed by the Austrian IT-company ViewAR) provides a cutting edge configurator enabling the user to browse through the entire portfolio of the swiss furniture producer, to individually configure every single item and in order to combine them in one virtual scene or even placing them in your own living room using Augmented Reality.
